Blogger Friends Forever: 80s

Here we go for 80s day! Since I was only a fetus when this decade closed, I don't have any personal experience with it. I did some google and referenced The Wedding Singer for some help and came up with checkers, neons and splatter.

Checkers remind me of the 80s. Probably because of The Wedding Singer and his sheets. You mean you don't remember his sheets?! Good, you're normal. I started with a base of Pure Ice white, then stamped with Cheeky CH3 and L.A. Colors Circuits. Then I used straws to splatter with China Glaze Hang Ten Toes, Surfin' for Boys, Sun Kissed, I'm With the Lifeguard, Splish Splash and Beach Cruise-r. I was completely satisfied with my splattering and then decided to do one last blow on my thumb because it needed more purple.

That was clearly a mistake.

My Birthday Manicure!!!

April 1st was my birthday! I really love my birthday. Like a lot :D This is definitely me:

It took me forever to decide what I wanted to do for my birthday manicure. A lot of people do cupcakes (which are super cute!) but I don't like cupcakes...or cake lol. I finally decided to do a skittle mani! I love skittles because I get to use 10 different polishes :) And I of course did them in a rainbow because I love love love rainbows! It's like the alphabet of colors!!! Then I topped them off with Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday which was an early birthday present from my daddy :)

Colors used: Right hand (pinky to thumb) - China Glaze Dance Baby, China Glaze Salsa, Zoya Paz, Wet n Wild The Wonder Yellows, China Glaze Gaga for Green.
Left hand (thumb to pinky) - China Glaze Starboard, OPI Fly, China Glaze First Mate, China Glaze Sweet Hook and Zoya Mimi.

I love this manicure so much! And the shoes I wore to dinner were glittered with similar colors as Happy Birthday. I keep changing my mind on which nail is my favorite. I'm really partial to the greens, but they're all so pretty!

31 Day Challenge: Day 9-Rainbow Nails

I love rainbow. A lot. It's like an alphabet for colors. I once made my brother arrange a display by color (because it couldn't be done by alphabet). He though I was insane. Anyways here's the beautiful rainbow I picked out for today:
Cosmetic Arts pink, Sally Hansen Cherry Red, Love and Beauty coral, Cosmetic Arts yellow, Icing green mini, Cosmetic Arts blue-green, Love and Beauty blue, China Glaze First Mate, L.A. Colors purple, Cosmetic arts bright purple. I didn't realize how many unnamed colors I'd chosen until I typed them all out. Wow.

I decided to paint each nail a different color and then add polka dots. I was inspired by this mani. I did it on my mom a couple of days ago and then wanted to try it again. Here's her's.

And mine:
I like hers a lot better. I kinda wish I had just left it a plain skittle mani. Although it has grown on me since last night. I think I tried to put too many dots on a few of the nails. And my polish was kinda drying out when I dotted my right hand. Here's a couple of my favorites from this mani.

I really love this base color. It's much brighter in real life. And I love the blue and purple on it.

I like the color combo on this one. And if this hadn't been the last nail I did, I'd like the execution much more. Those red ones...

This is my favorite. I got the most of the rainbow on this one. And this red is really pretty :) I just looked down on my nails again, and I think I like them a little more now. Now to decide what to do for tomorrow.

Also doing this challenge is Emma of Manicurity, Bec at Laquer Dreams, Julia at Julia Loves Nails, Linda at Nail Polish Enthusiast, Kirsten at Geeky Owl, and Jenna at The Key to Jennasis. You should definitely check these lovely ladies and their nails out!
