Cult Nails Riot, Orly Sparkling Garbage and Lac Attack Muggles

Hey everyone! I can't believe how long it's been since I blogged!!! Now that I've finally graduated college, I hope I can blog more regularly now. I graduated a week ago and hauled a bunch of polish in celebration. I used some of my new pretties for this mani :)

I started with two coats of Cult Nails Riot. This is such a gorgeous color! I love it a lot. Great application.

Then I used Lac Attack Muggles (a Harlow and Co. exclusive) and Orly Sparkling Garbage as an accent nail.

I think the colors in Muggles works perfectly with this color! I also think Riot is a great base color for Orly Sparkling Garbage. Sparkling Garbage applies great. Muggles takes two coats with some glitter fishing, but I think it was worth it :)

And I'll leave you with a macro shot of Muggles in all it's shredded glory!

Teal Tuesday: Mani Swap

This week's theme is Mani Swap! My partner was Natalie from Walk in my Eyeshadow. I love her blog, so check it out! She makes me want to blow all my money at Dollar Nail Art! I took my inspiration from this mani.

I used two coats of Butter London Slapper. It's such a gorgeous polish with great formula! It only took two easy coats. I also forgot I was going to do the accent nail haha. It was too pretty to remove, so I just covered it up with two coats of Butter London West End Wonderland.

Teal Tuesday: Jelly Sandwich

It's jelly sandwich time! I don't have a teal jelly, so I had to brainstorm how to make this work. I started with a base of Blackheart Mint to Be. It's an awesome creme that glows under a black light! I'm really impressed with the Blackheart polishes I've tried out.

Then I topped it with Milani Hot Pink, OPI Don't Touch My Tutu, Essie Stroke of Brilliance and another coat of OPI Don't Touch My Tutu. I kept going back and forth on whether I liked it while I was wearing it, but I like it in the pics :)

Teal Tuesday: Copy Cat

This Tuesday our assignment was to recreate someone else's mani in teal. Yesterday my friend Helen at Nail Newbie posted this awesome mani. I loved how sweet and simple it was so I decided to recreate it :)

I used two coats of Weird Indeed I Speak Whale, then topped it with Orly Shining Star. Then I painted with letter with a dotting tool and Color Club Worth the Risque. I really love the glitter over I Speak Whale. It reminds me a lot of the orange/yellow/green flakies, but in glitter form.

Teal Tuesday: Braided Mani

I was super excited when we voted on braided manis for this week's Teal Tuesday. The one I did before wasn't so hot and I was itching to try it again. I started with one coat of a England Galahad.

I then used a fine paint brush and painted the braids with a England Holy Grail and Sally Hansen Jumpin' Jade. These pictures are funny because I think my middle and ring finger look best in real life, but they look the worst in the pictures lol. And these pictures are doing A LOT of favors for my pinky nail. It's a hot mess in real life.

Teal Tuesday: Monochrome

Today's teal manicure is monochrome! I was inspired by The Crumpet's awesome mosaic manis. I also had some fabulous new teal I couldn't wait to try out!

For this mani I started with a base of China Glaze Exotic Encounters. I then drew my mosaic outline with China Glaze Ink and filled it in with Color Club Untamed Luxury, China Glaze DV8, and Love & Beauty Metallic Teal using a dotting tool. I wasn't the most precise dotter, so I went back over my lines with Ink to make it a little clearer.

I thin it's funny that I classify all these as teal, but all together they make each other look not so teal haha. I'm trying to decide which is my favorite nail, but just when I think I've decided, I notice something I like about another one lol.

Teal Tuesday: 3D

Since today was 3D Nail Art for Teal Tuesdays, I decided it was high time I used my knock off caviar beads. I started with two coats of Risque Husky. It looks more teal in the bottle, but it dried pretty blue. The application was amazing. I applied this with my left hand and needed almost no clean up.

Then I topcoated it all. While the top coat was wet, I dipped my ring finger into the pot of beads. I got these at Michael's on clearance, so they were hella cheap.

I tried to touch up the little bald spots, but it didn't really work. I wish I could report on how well these held up, but I'm so bad at picking at my polish that these didn't last an hour.

Teal Tuesday: Half Moon

Welcome to another Teal Tuesday! As you can see from the awesome graphic (courtesy of Missy from Gnarly Gnails-linked below), this week is half-moons! I had grandiose plans, but thanks to an exhausting weekend and the arrival of an awesome swap package, there was a change of plans.

I used two coats of Impala Azul Pavão which is a gorgeous teal creme. It applied very well. Absolutely love this polish. I'm experimenting with my nail shape. I can't decide how I feel about it. I hate the middle nail, but that's pretty constant no matter the nail shape haha. With this mani on, it really reminds me of vintage manicures.

Then I used reinforcement stickers to block off the half moon part of my nail. Then I applied one coat of Jade Energy which is a teal linear holo. I absolutely love this polish and I can't wait until I get the rest of the Jades!

Teal Tuesday: Glitter Bomb

Yay today is glitterbomb! I reorganized my stash list to show me teal glitter and selected the following four:  Color Club Untamed Luxury, Milani Teal, China Glaze Atlantis and Essence Edward.

Sooo sparkly! I'm drooling. This kinda reminds me of my rainforest nails, but better because it's teal. And has Edward's square glitter!

This was really hard to focus on due to all the sparkle. It's like glistening jewels :)

Rainbow Favorites: Blue

On to blue. This one was so hard for me! Blue makes up the largest share in my stash. And that's not even counting teals! I chose one of my recent favorites: Zoya Zuza. It's a gorgeous metallic teal. I painted two coats for this.

And of course I used my new Bundle Monster set over it! This is Bundle Monster BM 322 and Kleancolor Metallic Aqua. Metallic aqua is another really gorgeous blue.

It's more of a subtle stamping, but I really liked these two together and the stamp is super cool. It's like a complicated tape mani, but you don't have to line tape up right and wait for your base coat to dry completely over 6 days (exaggeration). Mine weren't perfectly straight and centered, but I didn't mind too much.

Summer Challenge: Blue/Green/Aqua

I'm finally doing another Summer Challenge mani! I looove these colors together so I was excited to play around with these.

I used China Glaze Gaga for Green, First Mate and Aquadelic. Gaga for Green is a fabulous apple green jelly. It only took two coats for opacity. Amazing. These are the kinds of colors that make me love China Glaze.

I freehanded the dots and stripes with dotting tools and striping brushes. this was super simple, but I really enjoyed the end result :) Also, I apologize for the lack of cleanup on the index nail. I didn't notice it until now. And for my cuticles! I feel like Colorado is sucking all moisture from my body!

Teal Tuesday: Gradient

This week for Teal Tuesday we're doing gradients! I'd just gotten Pretty & Polished Sand Art in the mail so I was dying to try it! I started with three coats of Icing Mr. Right Now. It's a gorgeous teal with blue and purple shimmer.

Then I did a gradient by layering Sand Art with the bottle brush. Remember sand art?! I was obsessed with it!

I love this! It's not my smoothest gradient, but this polish makes up for it :)

Teal Tuesday: Dots

For this week the Teal Tuesday theme is Dots! I was dying for the winner to be dots a couple weeks ago, so I figured I'd work in bows this week ;)

I started with two coats of Finger Paints 15 Minutes of Frame. It's a green-leaning teal (bluer than the photos show). Then I did a coat of Sally Hansen Teal-y Cool for a little bit of sparkle. Finally, I stamped with Cheeky CH6 (dots) and Konad M59 (bow) and Color Club Worth the Risque.

Teal Tuesday: Feathers

Hello everyone! I kinda slacked on my challenges this weekend :/ We went to my parents' friend's ordination to the priesthood and then to my mom's family reunion on the lake! It was a blast! Right before we left I opened my mailbox and found my latest shipment from Whimsical Ideas by Pam!

This is two coats of Kitty Glitter! It's soooo gorgeous! On Saturday I spent forever on the Jet Ski (which is the best thing EVER!) and my polish job got ruined. I had brought Kitty Glitter along with me and started applying it after church on Sunday. I got one coat down before my mom said we had to leave for the lake.

So I left it with one coat and no top coat. Then spend all day on the lake swimming and jet skiing and rescuing my dad from his jet ski. Then we drove home and I went to bed. Then the next day I showered. And my polish was perfect. Pristine. I just added 2 more coats and topcoat and you couldn't tell I'd beaten the crap out of my hands! That's some serious staying power. Like all of Pam's polishes, this applied like a dream.

Then Tuesday came around and I couldn't bear to take this fabulous polish off, so I decided to use it as the base for Teal Tuesday! Our them today is feathers. I couldn't decide if Kitty Glitter was teal enough to count for Teal Tuesday, so I decided to stamp with the fabulous a England St. George and BM 15.

Teal Tuesday: Matte/Glossy

This week for Teal Tuesday we are mixing matte and glossy! I haven't done this before, so I was really excited. I decided to start with a matte base and stamp with a glossy polish. Or one I thought was glossy...

I started with one coat of a Forever 21 matte teal polish. Then I stamped with Kiss plate B65 and Essence Bella. I thought Bella was going to be glossier and contrast more. Despite that, I really like the design. There's a bare spot on my index nails because I dropped my clean-up brush on it haha.

Summer Challenge: Swimming Pool

Swimming pools are pretty much my favorite thing ever. I once told my parents I'd give up my bedroom for a pool. They didn't go for it :( For this mani I tried to capture the gorgeous water sparkly in the sun :)

I did two coats of China Glaze For Audrey, which might have been too dusty for my purpose. Then I did a coat of Sally Hansen HD Spectrum (which I found at  Dollar Tree!) and then a coat of China Glaze Snow Globe to mimic sparkles and bubbles :) This mani makes me really happy!
