Pink Wednesday: Strawberries and Dots

For today's edition of Pink Wednesday, I chose China Glaze Strawberry Fields. I bought this polish recently because of the name. And after I put it on I had Strawberry Fields Forever stuck in my head all day.

This is two coats. It's a bright pink with gold shimmer. It's soooo pretty! Then Nubar Black Polka Dots was staring at me, so I decided to throw on a couple coats. Polka Dots is the perfect name for this polish because that's exactly what it looks like!

Even though I love this polish on, it was a pain in the butt to apply. The brush bristles are black, so it's impossible to tell if there are any specks on your brush. Also, they're really sparse, so this is about 3 coats. And it drags really bad, so you have to keep rearranging the dots. It's still totally worth it because it's so stinking cute!

Untried Month Day 12 and Pink Wednesday: Zoya Alegra

It's Wednesday and on Wednesdays we wear pink! For today's Pink Wednesday I have Zoya Alegra from their Sparkle Collection.

I was kind of disappointed in this polish. I love the others I'd tried from this collection (Charla and Ivanka) so I had high hopes for this one. This is three coats and as you can see, I still have VNL.

This colors is still really pretty. Next time I'll probably layer it over something to reduce the VNL.

Pink Wednesday with Candy Shop!

As a poor college student, I can't really justify buying an $18 Deborah Lippmann Nail Polish, even though they are beautiful. I was really excited when I found out Claire's had made a dupe of Candy Shop for only $4.50! I didn't really like the original, but it gets a whole lot cuter when it's less than $5!

I first had only two coats on and didn't really care for it. I decided to add a third coat. Now, I'm in love! At only two coats, there were quite a few bare spots and the pink was kinda muted and boring. With this extra coat, the bare spots are cover and I think the extra glitter brightens the pink.

I can't stop looking at it. It's like a super fun, super girly party on my nails. I'm not usually into pink, girly things, but this has seriously won me over :D

Pink Wednesday with Shocking Pink

I'm not sure if I've mentioned it, but I gave up polish buying for Lent. It's been really hard. Fortunately for me, Sundays don't count as part of Lent. Sundays are feast days celebrating Christ's resurrection, so it is inappropriate to fast on these days. That's why they aren't counted in the 40 days of Lent. Shopping only on Sundays has made the sacrifice more bearable and still kept me from buying too much polish. Before this past Sunday, I'd gone two weeks without buying a polish. That's HUGE for me lol. In my mini shopping spree on Sunday, I went to the mall. Someone in PAA mentioned that Hot Topic polishes were buy 1 get 1 free. My Hot Topic had them for half off, so different words, same savings. I picked up Shocking Pink. This is two coats Icing Chic Chic Horray (white) and two coats Warpaint Beauty Shocking Pink.

It's a lot brighter in person. One of my earliest polish memories is of a neon pink I got at the $.98 store in high school. It covered in 1 coat and was super bright and shiny. I lost it and since then I've tried to find a neon that compared. I was always super disappointed because I didn't know the best way to show neons is over a white base and with a topcoat to make them shiny. Oh the things the Internet can teach you! I then stamped over it with L.A. Colors Circuits and Cheeky plate CH16.

I've been obsessed with this squiggle design and have been waiting for the best time to use it. I absolutely love this!

Pink Wednesday with Starla and Crown Me Already

Yesterday I mentioned I tried to make tulips and they were a fail. I tried to paint them with Zoya Starla and it just didn't work out. So I decided to use Starla for Pink Wednesday instead! I started with 4 coats of Starla.

Starla took FOREVER to dry, so my ring finger got some really weird denting. To help cover it up, I decided to add one coat of OPI Crown Me Already.

I was holding my hands to try to get the pink to show how bright it was and it made some of the glitter look black. I wish.

Spring PCFC Day 2: Favorite Spring Pink

Hello all! I have more pink for you! It's favorite spring pink to coincide with Pink Wednesday. Thankfully there are quite a lot of pinks in my untried stash :) I started with three coats of Sinful Colors Glass Pink. It's like Cinderella's pink sister. It's so pretty. It look like there's a little VNL here, but that wasn't there in real life. You can also see a little bit of the staining on my pinky that you couldn't see in real life.

Then I added two coats of OPI I Lily Love You. It's such a cool mix!

Pink Wednesday with Icing Magnetix

Hey everyone! This is my first Pink Wednesday! I really love Mean Girls, so I was really excited when I heard about this...even if it is a little late in the day lol. I was busy at work for once and didn't get a chance to blog it earlier. But here it is!

This is two coats of Icing Magnetix in pink. I'm not really a fan of the pink color before the magnet, but with the magnet, it's really cool! It still might be my least favorite of the Magnetix. To find out more about Pink Wednesdays, click on the pic in the sidebar!
