Summer Challenge: Sunshine

Summer Sunshine! I really love this color combination. Btw the weird spots around the cuticles? That would be staining from blueberries that would not come off for the life of me :/

I did too coats of Color Club Blue-Ming and then freehanded suns with Color Club Almost Famous.

Summer Challenge: Summer Sunset

I'm a day late on this challenge :/ And earlier today I looked down and all the polish on one nail just popped completely off! Hence the weird hand position.

I started with a base of Icing Peachy Keen because it was right between orange and yellow. Then I sponged OPI In My Back Pocket, Color Club Almost Famous, and Color Club Blushing Rose. Then I sponged Wet n Wild 9.0.2.1.Orange over everything.

Teal Tuesday: Ladies' Choice

Today's Teal Tuesday theme is Ladies' Choice which made me immediately think of this:

I loooove Zac Efron and this version of Hairspray. I was obsessed when it came out. If I'd had more time this holiday weekend, I would've done a mani inspired by the video, like those fabulous curtains in the back and those awesome paper lanterns...I'm gonna have to keep that in mind for a rainy day ;)

I kept it simple and did two coats of Fanservice Nails Did I Fall Asleep?. This polish applied really well. It's a teal shimmer base with iridescent glitter and flakies.

I'd worn this a couple of day, so I did have some tip wear. And chipping on the ringer finger at the cuticle because I was picking at it :/

This polish was absolutely fabulous and I loved it. But my favorite thing? Removal. Usually darker polishes are a nightmare to remove because they stain your hands and nails and are super messy. These are my nails right after removing Did I Fall Asleep? without any special treatment:

I removed it with Zoya Remove+ and felt with absolutely no problems. I only used 1/2 a piece of my felt pieces and I usually used at least a full one (sometimes two) to remove dark colors like this. And I only used one coat of nail hardener as my base coat! Excellent!

Fanservice Nails Polishes are available here. There are some wonderful polishes available. I've already worn all three I bought and loved them. I can't wait to buy more!

Summer Challenge: Favorite Summer Color

For my favorite summer color, I chose Color Club Wild at Heart. Dark purple isn't exactly the most summery color, but I don't really care ;)

I chose this polish because 1.) it's gorgeous 2.) it's holo which means it's aMAHzing in the sun and 3.) it has the same name as my official summer anthem! I saw the name of this polish on an online swatch and it brought to mind speeding down the loop with this song blaring. Perfect. summer. song.

I'm sooo in love with this polish!

Now, for your enjoyment:

Last of the Birthday Nail Mail

I have finally come to the end of my birthday packages. It's kinda sad that I'm not gonna get surprise packages, but now I get to send surprised packages :D

Helly at Nail Newbie sent me this awesome mini set of Models Own Beetlejuice polishes and a full size of Aqua Violet and adorable little jars of star glitter! I have no idea how the candy was because my brother ate it, but I guess it's fair since he's been stalking the mail man for me all month. I only need 1 more of the original Beetlejuice polishes!

Janelle at Life Love Nailpolish sent me Color Club holos!!!!! I've been dying for these!!! I'm wearing Wild at Heart now and it's FABULOUS! She also sent Swedish Fish, but since they're my favorites, they were gone almost immediately.

Wild at Heart, Fashion Addict, Worth the Rique and
Love 'Em and Leave 'Em

A huge thank you to all the ladies in my birthday group who have completely spoiled me this month. Y'all are the best! :D

Summer Challenge: Orange Freestyle

For today's challenge, I chose to use Color Club Wham! Pow! from the Poptastic collection. It's a gorgeous orange neon that applies really well and looks really juicy after top coat. Here's 3 coats.

These pics looks kind of weird because the brightness of this color freaked my camera out.

Here it is with flash. It gives a better representation of how bright this color is (even if it makes my skin look really weird).

Mall Haul and Some Indie Nail Mail

Such a rhyme-y title! On Monday I had a whole day off work, so I decided to go to the mall. I hit up my favorite polish shops and got some goodies :) First up is Forever 21. I seriously controlled myself and only allowed myself to buy two bottles. I got a gorgeous metallic teal and a green glitter (which I'm pretty sure is a dupe of L.A. Girl Glitter Addict Purge).

And then Icing! I seriously love Icing polishes. I got 2 shredded glitter polishes and a crelly with iridescent glitter.

Icing Pre Game, Peachy Keen and Shredded

And I also picked up a mini set of neons with mirco glitter! They're so pretty and bright! I love them a lot :)

And then to The Gap. I think I can count on one hand how many times I've been to The Gap. But I really really wanted Gold Rush which is a dupe for Chanel Peridot.

Doesn't it look magical?! And look at it from this angle:

Blue/green!

Finally, I headed to JC Penney and got OPI My Pointe Exactly and Pirouette My Whistle. And they were only $6 each! They were labelled $8, so I was really excited haha.

Then after hitting up the mall, I stumbled upon Fanservice Nails on Etsy. I HAD to have these and I can't wait to try them out!

Fanservice Nails Blowfish Driving a Sports Car, Invitation
to Endless Wonder and Did I Fall Asleep?
I can't wait to use these beauties!!!

Summer Challenge: Summer Dots

To me, nothing says summer like neons. Since neons are sometimes a fickle bunch, I started with a neon base and then dotted over that with other colors. The colors are kind of random because I grabbed random polishes that looked like they might contrast off my lap desk.

Colors used: Color Club Wham! Pow!, Blue-ming, Lavendarling and Sweet Pea. I really love the blue dots, but am kind of ambivalent on the pink and purple dots.

Summer Challenge: Chelsea Flower Show

So apparently the Chelsea Flower Show is a big deal in the gardening world. That would probably explain why I've never heard of it haha. I decided to keep it simple. I started with two coats of Sally Hansen Ivy League. I was not a fan of this polish. It took FOREVER to dry and then still bubbled.

Then I stamped with Bundle Monster plate BM 204 and Sally Hansen Whirlwind White. This image is like my favorite image. It's so cute and delicate. I should've cleaned my plate before doing the middle finger, but I still like it :)

Teal Tuesday: Stars

Today's Teal Tuesday theme is stars!!!!! Since I love love love stars, I was super excited :) Yesterday, I found this gorgeous metallic polish at Forever 21. I couldn't decide if it was teal or not, but the label says it is, so I used it! :) This is one coat! I'm gonna have to test it out for stamping.

Then I added on some nail stickers I got in my Spring Surprise. Blue and silver just make me happy together. And I think the stars just look magical in this mani :)

Monkey See Monkey Do Monday: Monarch Butterflies

For today's late edition of Monkey See Monkey Do Monday I decided to do butterfly nails. I already had on two coats of Models Own Pink Cocktail and decided to throw this on top.

I still need to practice this technique, but it still catches my eye while wearing it :) I'm not sure who originally did this design and I've seen it on a lot of blogs, so I'm not sure who to credit. Go to google and search "butterfly nails" and check out some of the awesome interpretation.

Summer Challenge: Torch Starts its Journey

The first manicure challenge of the Summer Challenge is inspired by the start of the Olympic Torch Relay! I love love love the Olympics, so I was excited that it was the first manicure of this challenge :) Some fun facts about the torch:
The Torch is made up of an inner and an outer aluminium alloy skin, held in place by a cast top piece and base, perforated by 8,000 circles. Representing the inspirational stories of the 8,000 Torchbearers who will carry the Olympic Flame, the circles which run the length of the body of the Torch also offer a unique level of transparency. You can see right to the heart of the Torch and view the burner system which will keep the Olympic Flame alive on its journey around the UK.
Colour: gold. The gold colour embraces the qualities of the Olympic Flame – the brightness and the warmth of the light that it shines.

Colors used:
Flame: China Glaze Salsa, Zoya Nidhi, Kleancolor Metallic Mango, Metallic Yellow
Torch: Kleancolor Metallic Yellow and Coffee Addict.
Olympic Rings: China Glaze First Mate, Starboard, Salsa, L.A. Colors Circuits and Zoya Pippa.

Whimsical Ideas by Pam Saturday Morning Cartoons

I got another Whimsical Ideas by Pam order the other day :) I ordered Saturday Morning Cartoons. I love this polish sooooooo much. I loved the pictures I saw online, but none of them (including mine) do this polish justice. The blue is so bright! There's no way I couldn't love this polish because it's got my top three favorite colors (red, blue, green) plus silver glitter in it! It's simply gorgeous. That's why I've got a lot of pictures of it :)

I had trouble getting it opaque at the tips, so I think next time I'll start with a base of a bright medium blue. The tips weren't that noticeable in real life however. I could not stop staring at my nails!
