Untried Month Day 1: Zoya Zuza and Deborah Lippmann Mermaid's Dream

The other day when I got Zuza, I could not wait to use it, so I took it to school with me and applied it during classes haha. This is two coats of this gorgeous turquoise foil.

Then when I got home, Mermaid's Dream was sitting on my porch waiting for me, so I applied two coats on my ring finger as an accent nail. I'm obsessed with mermaids because I really want to be one. Really bad.

I went to Dallas this past weekend and was so looking forward to going to Nordstrom and buying a Deborah Lippmann to celebrate 1.) my birthday and 2.) winning the presidential election of my student organization! I figured I'd splurge for the special occasion. Unfortunately we ran out of time and I didn't get to go, so I ordered this from HSN on Sunday and got it on Wednesday! I decided to wear it until I was announced as president on Thursday.

From swatches I saw online, I wasn't sure that I'd like this, but I figured since it had the word mermaid in the name I'd find a way to love it. You guys, it is so much prettier in person. My pictures and others I've seen online make me think of eyeshadow for some reason. Like sorta chalky/powdery? It's got these gorgeous golden sparkles in it and I'm pretty sure supermicro holo particles. In the sun it is just gorgeous!

It was so shiny that trying to get a picture was hard, so I mattified it with NYC Matte Topcoat for the next picture. This made it look like eyeshadow in real life, but it was still super beautiful :)

Also, Helen at Nail Newbie has started an Untried Month to get through all the polishes she hasn't used yet. I decided to join her since my untried drawer is full. Also joining us are some girls from our birthday group. If you'd like to join, let me know in the comments and I'll link you in my posts!

My New a Englands!!!

a England had a sale the day before my birthday, so my mom let me pick out 4 for the occasion :) I chose Princess Tears, Ascalon, Bridal Veil and Perceval. They were out of St. George :( But I love the polishes I got! Unlike Tristam, which kinda disappointed me, these were awesome!!!

I wanted to use two at a time, so I did an accent nail! This is two coats of Perceval (the red) and Bridal Veil. Oh my gosh Perceval is so dang pretty!!! I can't wait to use the other two!

I got this with two other packages on Monday, a package on Tuesday and two on Wednesday. And I'm expecting at least 2 more by the end of the week, so I'll be doing an awesome haul post this weekend!!! :D

Teal Tuesday: Splatter

The Internet at my house has been annoyingly spotty, so this is a day late :/ Sorry. This week's Teal Tuesday theme is splatter! I'm not super proud of this mani, but oh well. I did it so I'm posting it!

I did two coats of China Glaze Sunshine Pop and then splattered with China Glaze Grape Juice and Icing Mr. Right Now.

I think perhaps I might like it more if I had used more opaque colors to splatter with. The teal turned out more green that I wanted. You live, you learn.

Icing Lemme See Your Peacock

And another Icing glitter! This is Lemme See Your Peacock. It's a mix of green, purple and blue glitter. I layered two coats over three coats of Wet n Wild Teal of Fortune.

I love this sooo much! It's so sparkly and reminds me of a mermaid! I went outside in the shade to help show all the colors better and I seriously love this!

My Birthday Manicure!!!

April 1st was my birthday! I really love my birthday. Like a lot :D This is definitely me:

It took me forever to decide what I wanted to do for my birthday manicure. A lot of people do cupcakes (which are super cute!) but I don't like cupcakes...or cake lol. I finally decided to do a skittle mani! I love skittles because I get to use 10 different polishes :) And I of course did them in a rainbow because I love love love rainbows! It's like the alphabet of colors!!! Then I topped them off with Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday which was an early birthday present from my daddy :)

Colors used: Right hand (pinky to thumb) - China Glaze Dance Baby, China Glaze Salsa, Zoya Paz, Wet n Wild The Wonder Yellows, China Glaze Gaga for Green.
Left hand (thumb to pinky) - China Glaze Starboard, OPI Fly, China Glaze First Mate, China Glaze Sweet Hook and Zoya Mimi.

I love this manicure so much! And the shoes I wore to dinner were glittered with similar colors as Happy Birthday. I keep changing my mind on which nail is my favorite. I'm really partial to the greens, but they're all so pretty!
